Portage Appliance Repair · Last updated: July 2026
These terms apply to the appliance repair services provided by Portage Appliance Repair across Ottawa and Gatineau, and to your use of this website. By booking a repair or using this site, you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, please do not use our services or this website.
Portage provides on-site diagnosis and repair of household and commercial appliances, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves and ovens. We work across Ottawa and Gatineau, seven days a week, from 7am to 11pm. Availability of a specific time slot is not guaranteed and depends on demand and technician schedules.
When you book a repair, you agree to provide accurate contact and appliance details and to make the appliance reasonably accessible for our technician. Someone aged 18 or older must be present at the property for the visit. If we cannot access the appliance or the property on arrival, the trip may be treated as a missed appointment under our Cancellation Policy.
Our technician assesses the appliance on site and gives you a price before any repair work begins. You decide whether to go ahead. When you approve the repair and we complete it, there is no separate charge for the service call or the diagnosis. If you choose not to proceed with the quoted repair, an assessment fee may apply to cover the visit. All prices are quoted in Canadian dollars and are subject to applicable taxes.
The price you approve before work starts is the price for that repair. If further faults are found once work is under way, we will stop and discuss any additional cost with you before continuing. Payment is due on completion of the repair unless we agree otherwise, using the methods advised at the time of booking.
We use quality replacement parts suited to your appliance. Some parts are ordered from suppliers, which can affect timing, and we will let you know if a part needs to be sourced. If a required part is no longer available or cannot be obtained at a reasonable cost, we may be unable to complete the repair, and we will explain your options.
Completed repairs are covered by our 90-day warranty on parts and labour. Full details, including what the warranty does and does not cover, are set out on our Warranty page.
If you need to change or cancel an appointment, please see our Cancellation Policy for the notice we need and any fee that may apply.
Our work is limited to the specific repair you approve. To the extent permitted by law, Portage is not responsible for pre-existing faults, for wear or failure of parts we did not repair, for loss of food or other contents caused by an appliance or power failure, or for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms removes any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
You agree to provide a safe working environment for our technician. If conditions at the property are unsafe or unsanitary, or if access to the appliance is blocked, our technician may decline to carry out the work, and the visit may be treated as a missed appointment.
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one posted on this page, with the date shown above. Continuing to use our services or this website after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the province in which the service is provided, Ontario or Quebec, together with the applicable federal laws of Canada.
